Just in time for Summer, Drake your favorite Canadian Rapper gets down with the crew at Crooks & Castles for their Summer 2011 Eyewear Collection. These are only offered at the Sunset and Hawaii store locations at this time.

This was an RSVP invite only affair, so we decided to see what it was all about! The fine people at 713vip.com and Crown Royal really had it super swanky. The drinks flowed all night long and DJ Good Grief had the sounds just right! I jacked these pictures from Houston Trend magazine, true friends to SF2, and Loso captured the essence of the party with these pics. Still, its one of those things…you just had to be there! Enjoy!

Some producers make beats, others make songs, while a chosen few actually make a movement. This is exactly what has happened with arguably three of the most talented producers ever to bless the boards, Erik “Rook” Ortiz, Kevin “Colione” Crowe, and Kenny “Barto” Bartolomei, better known as the Grammy-winning collective “The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.” Undeniably some of the illest composers Ever. While the name may be larger than life, the sound and the movement they have created lives up to it. Known largely for defining the Maybach Music sound of the latest industry champ Rick Ross. Rook, Kenny, and Colione have also created arrangements for Drake, Young Jeezy, Keyshia Cole, Mary J. Blige, Bun B, Lloyd Banks, and The Game; in addition to the in-camp up and comers like Gabriella Sofia and Laws to name a few. The trio definitely bears the cross of carrying on real musicianship and composition in a rap world filled with hollow and gimmicky production. In short, these guys are carrying the torch and we took some much-needed family time to sit down with the trio to get more familiar, we highly suggest you do the same.

June 1st a couple artists were called upon to preview and critique the Holiday 2011 Collection of DGK (Dirty Ghetto Kids). An established skate brand of Professional Skater Stevie Williams, DGK is looking to expand the visibility of the brand to other markets and we were pleased to be a selected retailer to help in this process! The Market Operations Manager over North America himself visited Houston for one day only to gather this data and give us an overall introduction to the future plans of the brand. Highly sensitive information was shared, and a few pics were allowed to be snapped, so we took advantage! Our panel of artists did NOT hold back on the critique of the line, these guys were HONEST! After it was over, the exec from DGK was eager to see and hear these artists work and share some feedback as well. Special shout out to the panel Hollywood Floss, Onehunnidt and Jettimastyr. Expect to see some events with DGK and SF2 MEDIA in the very near future!

We’re excited to announce that Treasure Fingers will be headlining our Creme de la Creme event in Houston tomorrow! His smooth mix of disco classics, club-forged breaks and blistering bass lines caught the ears of A-Trak in 2008 and was signed instantly to Fools Gold Records. Since then Treasure Fingers has remixed, mixed, and been remixed by the likes of Chromeo, Miami Horror, Miike Snow and Empire of the Sun. Opening sets by GRRRL Parts, Glasnost (DJ set), and DJ Dan-Knee of Invisible Friends.
